In a stunning 4-3 ruling yesterday, Colorado's Supreme Court prohibited former President Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot in the state's primary in March 2024 due to a section of the 14th Amendment that disqualifies people who have engaged in insurrection against the U.S. The court ruled that Trump's actions ahead of the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol constituted taking part in an insurrection, and the judges said they were "cognizant that we travel in uncharted territory" with the decision. Courts have ruled against similar efforts to get Trump banned from the ballot in Arizona, Michigan and Minnesota. Trump's lawyers said they will appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
