Ο Μίκυ Μάους στην Ελλάδα!
Οι περισσότεροι θυμούνται το περιοδικό ΜΙΚΥ ΜΑΟΥΣ που εξέδιδε η εταιρεία Χρήστου Τερζόπουλου (στο τέλος ως Νέα Ακτίνα Α.Ε.) με έδρα την Οδό Φραγκοκλησιάς στο Μαρούσι, από την 1η Ιουλίου 1966 έως τα μέσα της δεύτερης δεκαετίας του 2000. Σήμερα το ομώνυμο περιοδικό βγαίνει από τις ΚΑΘΗΜΕΡΙΝΕΣ ΕΚΔΟΣΕΙΣ Α.Ε., που πήραν τη 'σκυτάλη' μετά από ένα μικρό, χρονικά, κενό.Ελάχιστοι όμως ξέρουν ότι η πρώτη, τακτική περίοδος κατά την οποία διαβάζονταν στη χώρα μας οι περιπέτειες όλων των ηρώων του Γουόλτ Ντίσνεϊ, μας στέλνει αρκετά πίσω στο χρόνο!
Ιδού λοιπόν, η ανακοίνωση για την κυκλοφορία του #1 του ΜΙΚΥ ΜΑΟΥΣ μέσα από τις σελίδες του περιοδικού Γέλιο και Χαρά από τις εκδόσεις Ατλαντίς των αδελφών Πεχλιβανίδη.

Απόσπασμα από το εξώφυλλο του νέου εντύπου.Κυκλοφόρησε σήμερα 20 Φεβρουαρίου (η ημερομηνία επιλέχθηκε ως φόρος τιμής στο αντίστοιχο 1ο φύλλο του Φεβρουαρίου του 1985) το #1 της νέας μηνιαίας τοπικής εφημερίδας ΑΙΓΑΛΕΩ-ΔΙΑΛΟΓΟΣ-ΑΝΑΤΡΟΠΗ, του Αιγαλιώτη δημοσιογράφου κ. Γιώργου Καφετζή.
Ακριβώς 39 χρόνια λοιπόν από την έναρξη της πρώτης του εφημερίδας, ο κ. Καφετζής ξεκινά -ουσιαστικά- τη Β' Περίοδό της με το σημερινό, "παρθενικό" της φύλλο που έχει τίτλο Τρία θέματα για τον νέο δήμαρχο.
Είναι τιμή για μας και ιδιαίτερη χαρά, να συνεισφέρουμε στο έντυπο.

Τα τρόφιμα που καταναλώνουμε είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένα με τη σωματική αλλά και την ψυχική μας υγεία. Άλλωστε, δεν είναι τυχαία η φράση «είμαστε ό,τι τρώμε». Ως προς την επιδερμίδα μας, δεν υπάρχει μια «μαγική» διατροφή που αν την ακολουθήσουμε θα μας εγγυηθεί την… απόλυτη λάμψη καθώς η υγεία της επηρεάζεται όπως είναι φυσικό από ποικίλους παράγοντες. Ωστόσο, υπάρχουν τρόφιμα πλούσια σε θρεπτικά συστατικά που μαζί με τη σωστή περιποίησή της, τη σωματική άσκηση και τη μείωση του στρες, την προστατεύουν.

7 τρόφιμα που διατηρούν την επιδερμίδα μας νέα
#1 Αγγούρι
Το κλειδί για ένα λαμπερό δέρμα είναι, όπως είπαμε, η ενυδάτωση. Η πρόσληψη νερού είναι ζωτικής σημασίας για όλες τις λειτουργίες του οργανισμού μας και υπάρχουν τρόφιμα με υψηλή σε αυτό περιεκτικότητα. Ένα χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα είναι τα αγγούρια καθώς αποτελούνται κατά 95 τοις εκατό από νερό.Η κατανάλωση ενυδατικών φρούτων και λαχανικών, όπως το αγγούρι, είναι ο τέλειος τρόπος για να αυξήσετε τα συνολικά σας επίπεδα ενυδάτωσης, τα οποία με τη σειρά τους προάγουν το λαμπερό δέρμα.
Άλλες πλούσιες σε νερό επιλογές είναι:

#2 Αβοκάντο
Τα «καλά» λιπαρά παίζουν ρόλο στη διατήρηση της λειτουργίας του δερματικού φραγμού, προάγοντας την αποκατάσταση των κυττάρων του δέρματος και την πρόληψη της γήρανσης.Μια υγιεινή τροφή που περιέχει λιπαρά ευεργετικά για την υγεία του δέρματος είναι το αβοκάντο.
Τα αβοκάντο είναι πλούσια σε μονοακόρεστα λιπαρά και βιταμίνες Α και C, οι οποίες είναι σημαντικές για τη διατήρηση ισχυρών ιστών και την πρόληψη της ξηρότητας του δέρματος, σύμφωνα με τους ειδικούς.
Μια μικρή μελέτη εξέτασε 39 γυναίκες που πρόσθεσαν στη διατροφή τους ένα αβοκάντο την ημέρα. Η μελέτη κατέληξε στο συμπέρασμα ότι η καθημερινή κατανάλωση αβοκάντο μπορεί να οδηγήσει σε βελτιωμένη ελαστικότητα και σφριγηλότητα του δέρματος του προσώπου.

- Τα λιπαρά ψάρια
#3 Σολομός

Άλλες πλούσιες σε πρωτεΐνες επιλογές είναι:
- Τα αυγά
- Οι φακές
- Οι ξηροί καρποί
#4 Φράουλες
Οι φράουλες και τα βατόμουρα είναι τρόφιμα πλούσια σε αντιοξειδωτικά.Τα αντιοξειδωτικά κάνουν ακριβώς αυτό που υποδηλώνει το όνομά τους: καταπολεμούν την οξείδωση, η οποία οδηγεί σε γήρανση της επιδερμίδας. Πολλά προϊόντα περιποίησης άλλωστε περιέχουν αντιοξειδωτικά όπως βιταμίνη Ε και C.
Η βιταμίνη C βοηθά στην προώθηση του σχηματισμού κολλαγόνου και περιορίζει τις επιπτώσεις των ελεύθερων ριζών, συμβάλλοντας στη διατήρηση ενός σφριγηλού και νεανικού δέρματος. Οι φράουλες μας παρέχουν βιταμίνη C καθώς και φυτικές ίνες.
Επιπλέον, οι φράουλες μπορούν να μειώσουν τις βλάβες από την υπεριώδη ακτινοβολία και τη φλεγμονή.
Άλλες επιλογές πλούσιες σε αντιοξειδωτικά:
- Σμέουρα
- Λαχανάκια Βρυξελλών
- Ντομάτες
#5 Στρείδια
Τα στρείδια είναι πηγές ψευδαργύρου και άλλων απαραίτητων για τον οργανισμό ιχνοστοιχείων (σίδηρος, σελήνιο, χαλκός κ.λπ.). Αυτά τα μικρά, αλλά «ισχυρά» μέταλλα συμβάλλουν στην ενίσχυση του ανοσοποιητικού και την καταπολέμηση της φλεγμονής.Από όλα τα τρόφιμα, τα στρείδια περιέχουν τον περισσότερο ψευδάργυρο ανά μερίδα.
Ο χαλκός μπορεί να βελτιώσει την ελαστικότητα του δέρματος και να μειώσει τις ρυτίδες ενώ η ανεπάρκεια σε σελήνιο μπορεί να κάνει το δέρμα πιο ευαίσθητο στο οξειδωτικό στρες.

#6 Καρύδια
Με άφθονες πρωτεΐνες, υγιή λίπη και βιταμίνη Ε, τα καρύδια βοηθούν την επιδερμίδα να παραμείνει υγιής.Τα καρύδια περιέχουν μια συγκεκριμένη μορφή βιταμίνης Ε (που ονομάζεται γάμα τοκοφερόλη), η οποία έχει αποδειχθεί ότι υποστηρίζει την αναγέννηση του δέρματος και αποτρέπει τη βλάβη του. Ο γευστικός αυτός ξηρός καρπός μας προσφέρει ωμέγα-3 λιπαρά οξέα (σε περίπτωση που δεν είστε φίλοι των λιπαρών ψαριών).

#7 Κόκκινες πιπεριές
Όσον αφορά τη βιταμίνη C, τα πορτοκάλια είναι το πρώτο τρόφιμο που μας έρχεται στο μυαλό. Ωστόσο, 1/2 φλιτζάνι κόκκινες πιπεριές μας παρέχει το 106 τοις εκατό της ημερήσιας συνιστώμενης πρόσληψης βιταμίνης C, ενώ ένα μέτριο πορτοκάλι το 78.Η βιταμίνη C είναι απαραίτητη για την παραγωγή κολλαγόνου, το μεταβολισμό των πρωτεϊνών και την επούλωση των πληγών. Λειτουργεί επίσης ως αντιοξειδωτικό, καταπολεμώντας τις ελεύθερες ρίζες και μειώνοντας τη φλεγμονή. Τι σημαίνει αυτό για το δέρμα; Μια πιο λαμπερή και όμορφη επιδερμίδα.

If you’re applying for a job - there are a few safe bets in most situations.
Because of #1, #2, and #3 - you will be screened out for even “minor” flaws.
Why? Because it’s easier and better on every front.
• You’re late with replies; late for your meeting?
(Unreliable; unpunctual; irresponsible…)
• Misspelt names; a typo; slight grammar issues?
(Lacks attention to detail; negligent; careless…)
• Wants interviews/dates/working-times changed?
(Too self-absorbed; undetermined; pretentious…)
• “Annoying” or “overly pushy”?
(Expect the person to be even more pushy and restless if employed..)
The point here is not that each minor thing is a definitive sign of a huge character flaw. Far from it. Those were just extreme examples of what it may indicate.
The bottom line is - why waste your time and limited interview slots on candidates who are struggling with even such basic fundamentals of professionalism, when you could give the time/slot to the similar candidates who haven’t given you a reason to doubt them? Give it to the guy/girl who was on time; who did proofread; who did research the specific job/company; the one who showed care. It’s that simple.
If your applicant can’t be bothered to run a spell check through his/her application letter, why should you expect that candidate to show any more effort during actual work?
Not in all, but in most cases you tend to see “the best” show a candidate can put on during the selection process. If they’re extremely professional and careful while applying… you hope they’ll keep that up throughout the job. If they’re already cutting corners and making your life harder as candidates, you can be almost certain they won’t suddenly start showing more effort after being hired while showing carelessness.
Back to the OP’s question - the interviewer is likely worried that “this” (cancelling meetings the day before) is what he/she can expect from OP if hired. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not - that’s the impression it gives, compared to the other candidates on the table.
The correct response is to simply acknowledge and take responsibility for whatever the real situations is, in a mature and professional manner. Apologize for the late notice/inconvenience/time-waste, but explain your reasoning in as much detail as is required.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the late cancellation and notice. I fully appreciate the time you have given me throughout the hiring process, and am sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you.
The reason I can’t make it to my set interview is because my mother died on her way to her doctor yesterday. As the one responsible for handling her affairs, which now takes priority, this means I won’t be available until XX-YYYY.
Please note that this is an exceptional situation, as otherwise I take appointments very seriously. If feasible, I hope you’ll be willing to give me another chance. Should you need to make your selection before XX-YYYY, and thus need to move on to other candidates, I will understand and once again thank you for your time and the opportunity.

If you really had a “good” reason for needing to cancel the interview on such short notice:
They’ll either have the time and willingness to reschedule…or they’ll cut you loose.
If they couldn’t wait - that’s just unfortunate for both of you.
If they had the time, and you had a good reason (and dealt with it professionally) - and they still turned you down… you probably do not want to work for them.
p.s. The above example of “mother dying” was simply a nod at one of the other answers to this question. Clearly, much less severe force majeure cases can work just the same. If you had to cancel the interview because you were being responsible on another front - show that. That’s what the interviewer wants. Honesty and maturity.

Just to put this answer into context - when I initially wrote it, most top answers heavily focused on “blaming the recruiter” to different extents. Some even contain absurdly horrendous advice, such as the delusional notion that “cancelling the day before an interview is more than enough notice” - when in fact it is, without a doubt, extremely short notice for the people being inconvenienced. To believe otherwise is ridiculously selfish and shortsighted.
I do think the recruiter’s quote seems somewhat unprofessional, although we really have no details on this particular case, and certainly not enough to form a judgement. Why OP had to cancel, and how that was communicated to the recruiter, makes all the difference.
If OP had a good reason, and communicated well, the recruiter should’ve been more understanding to OP’s situation, even if rescheduling was not possible.
If OP had no reason, or communicated it on Sunday evening with something like “Yo bro, srry busy tmmr morning, how about we meet next weekend?? Thaaaanks”, while the recruiter was struggling to fit the interview in… yeah I can understand why the recruiter would be upset and no longer interested.

Τα αφιερώματά μου σχετικά με το {#}1{/#} τεύχος παλαιών εικονογραφημένων περιοδικών (κόμικς) που κυκλοφόρησαν στη χώρα μας κατά τον προηγούμενο αιώνα, συνεχίζονται μέσα από τη στήλη 'Ρετρό - Νούμερο Ένα' του διμηνιαίου περιοδικού "Μπλεκ - Τα Καλύτερα Κόμικς", από τις εκδόσεις "ΜΙΚΡΟΣ ΗΡΩΣ".
Στο 4ο τεύχος του περιοδικού, το οποίο κυκλοφορεί ήδη σε ολόκληρη τη χώρα, μπορείτε να διαβάσετε ένα άρθρο για το 1ο τεύχος του χιουμοριστικού περιοδικού "Βαβούρα". Έχουν προηγηθεί, αντίστοιχα αφιερώματα στα "παρθενικά" τεύχη των εντύπων "Δυναμικό Αγόρι", "Φίλαθλος" και "Γκολ", ενώ σε επόμενα τεύχη θα παρουσιαστούν τα έντυπα "Τρουένο", "Ταρζάν", "Μίκυ Μάους", "Ποπάυ" κ.α.

Περιοδικό "Δυναμικό Αγόρι" #1
Παραθέτουμε το αφιέρωμά μας στο τεύχος 1 του ιστορικού περιοδικού (κόμικς) "Δυναμικό Αγόρι", όπως δημοσιεύθηκε στο 2μηνιαίο περιοδικό των εκδόσεων "Μικρός Ήρως", "ΜΠΛΕΚ - Τα Καλύτερα Κόμικς" (τεύχος 1ο, Δεκέμβριος 2018 - Ιανουάριος 2019). Η στήλη μας στο έντυπο αυτό του κ. Λεωκράτη Ανεμοδουρά, εγγονού του αείμνηστου Στέλιου Ανεμοδουρά, τιτλοφορείται "ΡΕΤΡΟ - ΝΟΥΜΕΡΟ 1"
«Δυναμικό ΑΓΟΡΙ» {#}1{/#}

Εγκαινιάζουμε τη νέα μας στήλη με παρουσίαση του 1ου τεύχους του ιστορικού εικονογραφημένου περιοδικού «Δυναμικό Αγόρι», το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε την Παρασκευή 26 Ιουλίου του 1975 από τις «εκδόσεις 2001» των Νίκου Δεληγιώργη – Κώστα Μπαζαίου. Ήταν το τρίτο κατά σειρά έντυπο της συγκεκριμένης εκδοτικής μετά τα «Γκολ» (1971 – 1975) και «Μανίνα» (1972 – 1992), εισάγοντάς μας σε μία καινούργια, πολυθεματική εποχή για το είδος του. Μέσα από τον ευγενή συναγωνισμό με το προϋπάρχον «Μπλεκ», τα δύο αυτά περιοδικά συνιστούσαν ένα «alter ego» ή και «αντίπαλον δέος» του ενός για το άλλο επί μία ολόκληρη 17ετία (1975 – 1992), γεγονός που τα βοήθησε να εξελιχθούν προς όφελος των αναγνωστών τους.
Στο 1ο λοιπόν εκείνο τεύχος, στου οποίου το εξώφυλλο δέσποζε η εμβληματική φιγούρα του El Zabato, ενός επικού χαρακτήρα Ισπανικής έμπνευσης και δημιουργίας (των Victor Mora [1931 - 2016] και Francisco Darnis Vicente [1910 – 1966]) απ’ τις εκδόσεις «Bruguera» (1958 – 1966) περιέχονταν συνολικά 21 θέματα. Τα 19 από αυτά ήταν σειρές κόμικς (κάποιες καθαρά χιουμοριστικές κι ολιγοσέλιδες, που απευθύνονταν σε μικρότερες ηλικίες) ενώ υπήρχε κι ένα 2-σέλιδο κείμενο με τίτλο «Ο πιο μικρός ήρωας» της στήλης «Παιδιά στον Πόλεμο» που αναφερόταν στο ανδραγάθημα ενός νεαρού κατά το Β’ Κινεζικό Πόλεμο (1860). Την ιστορία αυτή διάνθιζε ένα εξαιρετικό σχέδιο του Joe Colquhoun (1926 – 1987), γνωστού κυρίως για την υπέροχη δημιουργία του «Charlie’s War» (1978), μία ηχηρή καταγγελία της ανθρωποσφαγής του Α΄ παγκοσμίου πολέμου.
Ο Ζαμπάτο, καταλαμβάνοντας 16 σελίδες -πλέον του εισαγωγικού του σημειώματος- αποτελεί τον απόλυτο frontman του περιοδικού. Στην αρχική του ιστορία, μαζί με τον πιστό του φίλο Taurus («Ταύρο») συλλαμβάνονται από τους Ρωμαίους κατακτητές της Ιβηρικής Χερσονήσου, διασώζονται από τη σφαγή χάρις σε επέμβαση της όμορφης Ρωμαίας «Κλαυδίας» αλλά οδηγούνται σιδηροδέσμιοι στην αρένα της Ρώμης ως μονομάχοι, προς τέρψη του φιλοθεάμονος κοινού. Το υπόλοιπο μέρος του εντύπου καλύπτεται από εξαιρετικές αποκλειστικότητες βρετανικών περιοδικών.
Από το «Valiant» αναδημοσιεύονται οι περιπέτειες «Whiz – Along Wheeler» («Το Κανόνι») σε σχέδιο του Mike Western (1925 – 2008) με βασικό ήρωα έναν μηχανικό που θα αναδειχθεί σε πρωταθλητή του Moto-Cross και «Kid Pharaoh» («Ο Γιος του Φαραώ») με σχεδιαστή το Francesco Solano-Lopez (1928 – 2011). Πρόκειται για την ιστορία ενός νεαρού-διάδοχου του Αιγυπτιακού θρόνου, ο οποίος ξυπνά μετά από λήθαργο χιλιετιών μέσα στον τάφο του εν έτει 1972!
Από το «Buster» (1973 – 1978) διαβάζουμε τις σειρές «Sammy Brewster’s Ski Board» («Μικροί Τιμωροί») των M. Scott Goodall (1935 – 2016) – J. Colquhoun, για μια παρέα τεσσάρων θαρραλέων παιδιών που συνδράμουν τις Αρχές στην καταδίωξη επικίνδυνων κακοποιών και «Pete’s Pocket Army» («Ο Στρατός της Τσέπης») των Tom Tully και F.S. Lopez, όπου το πλήρωμα ενός εξωγήινου διαστημόπλοιου πέφτει στη Γη και τα μέλη του (6 μικροσκοπικά πλάσματα με αστεία ονόματα) τίθενται υπό την προστασία ενός εφήβου μαθητή.
Από το περιοδικό πολεμικών περιπετειών «Battle Picture Weekly» των ετών 1975 – 1977 απολαμβάνουμε τις σειρές «D-Day Dawson» (των Gerry Finlay-Day και Arthur Geoffrey Campion [1916 – 1997]) όπου ο λοχίας Dawson μετατρέπεται για τις ανάγκες της ελληνικής έκδοσης («Ραντεβού με το Θάνατο») σε ... Γιώργο Γκανά (!), «Terror Behind the Bamboo Curtain» («Στα Νύχια των Γιαπωνέζων») των Charles Herring – Giancarlo Alessandrini, «The Rat Pack» («Κομμάντος Αυτοκτονίας») των G. F.-Day και Carlos Ezquerra (1947 – 2018) που είναι βασισμένο στην κινηματογραφική ταινία «The Dirty Dozen» (1967) του Robert Aldrich και «The Flight of the Golden Hinde» («Το Πλοίο – Φάντασμα») των S. Cornforth – Eduardo “Vanyo” Ibarra, όπου το ιστιοφόρο του θρυλικού κουρσάρου του 16ου αιώνα Sir Francis Drake (1540 – 1596) ξεπετάγεται απ’ το παρελθόν για να καταβυθίσει τα Γερμανικά πολεμικά πλοία στο Β΄ παγκόσμιο πόλεμο!
Από το «Lion» δημοσιεύεται η μελλοντολογική σειρά «The 10.000 Disasters of Dort» («Τρομερή Απειλή») του Michael Butterworth σε εικονογράφηση του στούντιο «Bermejo» (Jose Ortiz Moya [1932 – 2013) και Jose Gonzalez [1939 – 2009]). Από το «Tiger» του 1970 έχουμε την αναδρομή στη μαθητική ηλικία του ηγέτη των Melchester Rovers με τίτλο «Roy Race’s Schooldays» («Οι Σχολικές Μέρες ενός Άσσου») των T. Tully – Richard Jennings (1921 – 1997). Την ύλη συμπληρώνουν κάποια χιουμοριστικά στριπάκια, κορυφαίο απ’ τα οποία είναι το «Πανδοχείο του Τρόμου» («Scream Inn») από το περιοδικό «Shiver & Shake» σε σχέδιο του Brian Walker. Τα υπόλοιπα είναι «Ο Πολύξερος και ο Θαυμαστός Κόσμος του», «Η Ιστορία ενός Ζουμπά», «Υπερφυσικός Μπεμπές», «Το Κακό Μάτι», «Η Ζωντανή Μπάλλα», «Καϋμένε Μπαμπά» και ο «Φίτσουλας». Τέλος, στο οπισθόφυλλο υπάρχουν τα εικονογραφημένα «Μυστικά του Πολέμου», με πρώτο τους θέμα τις προλήψεις του Αδόλφου Χίτλερ.
