Keeping leading zeros in PlanMaker

Has it also happened to you that you entered a postal code or phone number into a cell in PlanMaker and then wondered why the leading zero disappeared?

This is due to the default format that is preset for all cells. This format recognizes the likely cell format from your input. If you enter only digits, PlanMaker sees your input as a number, and there leading zeros are superfluous.

How to keep leading zeros in cells

In order to keep the leading zeros when entering them into cells, you need to adjust the number format for the desired cells.

Here's how it works:

Select the cells or entire columns for which you want leading zeros to be preserved.
In the Number group of the ribbon tab Home, open the dropdown list by clicking on the arrow to the right of the list.
Select the entry Text from the list. This sets the cell format to "Text".

From now on, the leading zeros will be preserved when you enter data in these cells.

There are many other number formats that you can choose from in PlanMaker to display numbers in a suitable form, for example, percent, currency, fraction, etc. Please read the detailed description in the online manual.
