If you want to exchange TextMaker documents, PlanMaker worksheets or Presentations files with others, you should consider which file format is best suited for this.
If the recipient does not use FreeOffice or SoftMaker Office, he or she cannot open the file formats TMDX (TextMaker), PMDX (PlanMaker) and PRDX (Presentations) directly.
Here is how to make sure that others can open your documents:
First, consider whether you want the recipient to edit the document at all. If not, it is recommended to send the document as a PDF file. PDFs can be opened on any computer and look exactly the way you created them.
If you want the recipient to edit the document, save it as DOCX (TextMaker), XLSX (PlanMaker) or PPTX (Presentations). Such documents can be opened on computers with Microsoft Office, FreeOffice or SoftMaker Office installed.

And what’s the next step? Run your e-mail program, start a new e-mail and attach the document file.
With SoftMaker Office, the commercial version of FreeOffice, this can be done a bit more conveniently. Its programs include the command Send that directly transfers a document to Outlook or Thunderbird in the file format you want. The intermediate step of manually saving in a different format is skipped.
