House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Sunday Americans should not protest if former President Donald Trump is indicted in New York, appearing to contradict Trump, who called on his supporters to “Protest, take our nation back!” McCarthy said at a House Republicans retreat in Orlando he didn’t think “people should protest this, no,” adding that he thinks “President Trump, if you talk to him, he doesn’t believe that, either.” Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social Saturday that “illegal leaks” from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to the media suggested he will be arrested on Tuesday, related to an investigation into allegations Trump made a hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 campaign for president. Multiple sources told NBC News law enforcement agencies in New York were preparing for a possible indictment as soon as this week.

Miami Beach set a curfew for spring break crowds after two deadly shootings over the weekend.

The city of Miami Beach, Florida, implemented a curfew following two separate shootings over the weekend that left two people dead. One man died and another man was critically injured in a Friday night shooting, and a second shooting happened Sunday night that left one man dead, according to police. In a grim turn, Sunday's attack appears to have been caught on camera. Suspects had been detained in both shootings, police said, adding the two incidents appear to be isolated and unrelated. The curfew marks the third year in a row city officials have announced emergency measures to help control unruly spring break crowds, and a special commission meeting is scheduled for Monday afternoon to discuss enacting other measures into next weekend.

The FBI is offering $20,000 in the case of a great-grandmother who was kidnapped in Mexico.

The FBI is offering $20,000 for information that leads to the location of Maria del Carmen Lopez, 63, an American woman living in Mexico who has been missing for over a month. Authorities believe Lopez was kidnapped on Feb. 9 from her home in Pueblo Nuevo, Colima, Mexico, and her family says they were ordered to pay a large ransom to get her back. Lopez, who lives part of the time in Southern California, was targeted in the kidnapping, the FBI believes. Her daughter told NBC Nightly News, "We were able to hear what sound to us like a recording of her pleading for us to help her." Read more.
