Trump indicted in hush money probe, becoming the first former president to face criminal charges.
A grand jury in New York City voted to indict Donald Trump yesterday, marking the first time a former U.S. president has faced criminal charges. The indictment comes in a case centered on $130,000 in payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the closing days of the 2016 presidential campaign. The exact charge or charges are unknown because indictments in New York are typically filed in court under seal after a grand jury’s vote. The former president is expected to surrender to the Manhattan district attorney's office and appear before a judge early next week. "He did not commit any crime. We will vigorously fight this political prosecution in Court,” Trump's attorneys said. Here's the latest and what's next in the legal process

A Utah jury found actor and wellness mogul Gwyneth Paltrow was not at fault in a 2016 ski incident in which a retired optometrist claimed she collided with him and left him with serious injuries. Paltrow maintained her innocence, insisting that the man, Terry Sanderson, actually ran into her on the mountain at Utah's Deer Valley resort. The jury agreed, finding that Sanderson was at fault in the crash. "I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case," Paltrow said in a statement. As she left the court, the Goop founder touched Sanderson's shoulder and told him, "I wish you well," a moment that touched off some headlines of its own

Don't get down on yourself if you've put some pounds back on after shedding weight. A new study found that losing weight may still have benefits for your heart in the long term, even if you gain some of it back. A study of 50,000 participants in behavioral weight management programs found that losing weight reduced risk factors for heart disease and Type 2 diabetes — and the improvements lasted for years after the programs ended, even for people who regained some weight. Here's what to know, as well as 8 tips to keep the weight off after losing it

Whether it's walking circles around your living room or doing laps around your block, you're not alone if you go to silly lengths to reach a certain amount of steps every day. But how crucial is it to reach 10,000 steps a day? Dr. Jordan Metzl, a sports medicine physician at the Hospital for Special Surgery, told us the 10,000 steps goal comes from an ad campaign ahead of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and, in his opinion, it's a "completely fabricated" goal. A new study found that walking 8,000 steps just once or twice per week can be enough to significantly reduce the risk of death over 10 years. Here's what other research says should be a reasonable step goal when it comes to long-term health benefits.

Play ball! Yesterday was opening day in Major League Baseball, which is always a beloved day for Jenna Bush Hager and her family. Her father, former President George W. Bush, is also a former owner of the Texas Rangers. Jenna reminisced about growing up watching Rangers baseball yesterday before the season officially got underway. "We went to 73 games a year," she said on TODAY. "It was so much part of my DNA that it's weird to even think about it. My parents took us — every time they went, like, we didn't have babysitters. We just went along." Jenna has now taken her own children, including her daughter, Mila (above), to watch Rangers games with her parents. The former president was in the ballpark yesterday when the Rangers kicked off the season with an 11-7 comeback win over the reigning National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.
