Jaqueline Adan worked hard to shed 350 pounds, but remained frustrated when her legs still looked so big. Adan, 36, rode her bike for hours after her doctors told her to lose more weight. She soon learned she had lipedema, a condition where fat tissue collects in an abnormal way under the skin. “I was in pain, and pretty much all the doctors were saying the same thing: ‘You’re just gaining too much weight and you need to lose weight,'" she told TODAY.com. There's no cure for lipedema, but Adan said she felt "relief" knowing there was a reason for her health issues.
