[ltr]A study published in Consumer Reports tested 48 chocolate products from major retailers and specialty brands and found the heavy metals lead and cadmium in every one, including 16 products that exceeded levels of concern. Long-term exposure to cadmium can cause cancer, while exposure to lead can lead to neurological issues. Consumer Reports detailed 11 products, from brands like Hershey's and Starbucks, with the highest levels of cadmium and lead, and 10 products with safer levels.
