Supreme Court agrees to consider Trump immunity claim in further delay of election interference trial
[ltr]The Supreme Court agreed yesterday to decide whether former President Donald Trump can claim presidential immunity over criminal election interference charges. The court's decision raises significant doubts that the election interference case against Trump stemming from the 2020 election will go to trial before the 2024 presidential election. The court will hear oral arguments the week of April 22. If Trump were to win, the charges against him would be dismissed. Here's the latest. [/ltr]
[ltr]An area covering more than 1,500 square miles and one million acres was burning across Texas as of this morning, with at least 23 separate fires currently ablaze. The largest fire covered more than 850,000 acres, making it the second-biggest wildfire in state history, and only 3% of it was contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. One person has died, and heat and high winds forecasted for the weekend will likely cause “critical fire weather conditions again," the National Weather Service in Amarillo said. Continue reading.
