A California school district has fired its superintendent after an investigation into allegations that she threatened the graduation privileges of members of a high school softball team for not clapping loudly enough for her daughter. After an awards banquet last May for the Del Norte High School softball team, students said Marian Kim Phelps called and texted accusing them of not clapping enough for her daughter at the ceremony, NBC San Diego reported. The team's coach said he alerted the school board to Phelps' "abuse of power" and that his livelihood was threatened as a result. Phelps denied the allegations in a statement to NBC San Diego.
