How is it possible that Albanians ruled Egypt?
Egypt was ruled by the dynasty founded by Muhammad Ali from 1805 until the 1952 revolution. He was an ethnic Albanian, born in Kavala in modern Greece (where his birth-home can be seen to this day) but his family was from the Korce region of Albania. However, he came to Egypt not as an Albanian but as an Ottoman military officer and decided to carve out a fiefdom for himself.
However, even though he was ethnic Albanian it would be a mistake to simply say "Albanians ruled Egypt". His dynasty intermarried with other members of the multiethnic Ottoman-based ruling elites that had established themselves in Egypt, and he did not import an army of Albanians to rule over Egypt, so it would be erroneous to view it as an Albanian domination. He also had advisors from the local ruling elites who had already been established in Egypt before he even arrived in the country.
Due to this intermarriage, the Albanian element had become so diluted that by the time it reached Farouk I, that King had bloodlines that were 10/16 Circassian, 3/16 Turkish, 2/16 French, and only 1/16 Albanian:
