A U.S. District Judge is requiring Trump's former lawyer to testify before the federal grand jury.

A U.S. District judge ruled that special counsel Jack Smith's office presented sufficient evidence to establish that former President Donald Trump committed a crime through his attorneys, a source briefed on the proceedings confirmed to NBC News yesterday. U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell was not ruling on whether Trump was guilty of a crime, but whether his attorney, Evan Corcoran, could be compelled to testify. Howell ruled in favor of applying the "crime fraud" exception that will let prosecutors sidestep Corcoran's attorney-client privilege protections. Smith is the special counsel appointed to investigate Trump’s handling of classified documents. Trump's legal team has appealed the ruling by Howell, the source told NBC News. Here's the latest.

TODAY's beloved weatherman is back on his feet after a series of health issues. Al shared on Instagram that he recently surpassed 11,000 steps in a day as he returns to his walking routine. Al, 68, was hospitalized in November for blood clots in his leg and lungs and had his gallbladder removed, which had him off the show and off his feet for weeks. He shared that he is finally starting to feel like his old self again as he shoots for 10,000 steps a day, a health habit that has inspired thousands of others in the Start TODAY Walking Challenge Facebook Group. "Today was the first day I felt good walking this much," he wrote on Instagram.

In order to be comfortable on her plane ride, Taylor Colson, 27, decided to wear a baggy shirt with Mariska Hargitay's iconic character Olivia Benson on it, along with Chris Meloni's Elliot Stabler. The next thing Colson knew, she saw Mariska Hargitay herself sitting on her flight. She couldn't help but show the "SVU" star her shirt, which led to Mariska taking a smiling photo of them together after they landed. Colson, of course, shared the serendipitous moment on TikTok. "The universe could not have made this happen more," she told TODAY.com. "She was so, so nice." We're currently writing ourselves a reminder to wear our Rihanna shirt on our next flight.
