Hollywood actors are ready to return to work after 118 days on strike after the union representing more than 150,000 performers reached a tentative deal on a new contract with the top studios yesterday. SAG-AFTRA said the prospective deal will go to the union's national board tomorrow for "review and consideration," and the union will release more details about the new contract. The end of the actors' strike comes after the Hollywood writers ended their own strike on Sept. 27. The two unions, which were on strike at the same time for the first time since 1960, fought for stricter protections against the use of artificial intelligence, higher base compensation and a bigger cut of streaming profits.
